Paddle down the Huron River and we provide the van transportation upriver. River Trip Map & Directions and Fees & Times.
All of our River Trips are self-guided with the exception of some special trips offered during the canoeing season.
THE ARGO CANOE LIVERY IS OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK MEMORIAL DAY TO LABOR DAY so all river trips requiring van transportation are based out of ARGO CANOE LIVERY in June, July and August.
BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY and AFTER LABOR DAY you must begin your trip at GALLUP on WEEKDAYS and at ARGO on WEEKENDS for the river trips requiring van rides (all the trips listed below).
Weekends and Holidays tend to be particularly busy when the weather is nice. On these days, allow yourself some extra time for your river trip.
*IMPORTANT*
Our trips do not require reservations. Small groups and families can be accommodated without any problems on all but the busiest of days, and because of this we try not to take reservations for this type of group. If you are a larger group, please read our reservation policy, and call us if you have questions or would like to book.

| The Argo to Gallup trip is a pleasant 1.5-hour paddle down the Huron River. After launching at Argo Park, the paddlers are required to make a portage around Argo Dam. After reaching the end of a canal, paddlers must carry their boats up 2 steps and down a ramp to the river. Following the portage, it is an enjoyable float down to Gallup Park. Along the way, paddlers will encounter an abundance of wildlife in a natural setting as you paddle through the UM Arboretum and beautiful river parks. |

The Delhi to Argo trip begins with a van ride from Argo Park up to Delhi Metropark. The first thirty minutes of the trip allow paddlers to sit back and relax while the smooth current carries them down river. After 30 minutes paddlers will come upon Tubbs Road Rapids. At the rapids, paddlers are encouraged to portage their boats, as the rapids are shallow and rocky at several points throughout the year. The river continues on through beautiful Barton Pond and finally to Barton Dam, where a second portage must be made to travel around the historic dam. Following Barton Dam, the river flows through some of the most wonderful nature Ann Arbor has to offer back to Argo Park. |
