Bicentennial Murals
The Ann Arbor Bicentennial Murals project incorporated abstract art on basketball courts at two Ann Arbor parks - Bicentennial Park (formerly Southeast Area Park) and Leslie Park. The Bicentennial Murals Committee selected the top three artist-submitted designs and residents voted on the final design. The design submitted by artists Amanda Humphrey and Joe Trumpey was chosen. Both basketball courts are now open for use and the murals are finished.

June 28, 2024 - Public voting ended.

August 10th, 2024 - The artists began installing their design on the basketball court at Leslie Park and will begin at Bicentennial Park (formerly Southeast Area Park) on Thursday, August 22nd. The community is invited to participate in the painting process, with volunteer painting events planned by the city.

August 23rd - 25th, 2024 - Community paint events happened at Bicentennial Park. Thanks to everyone who helped!
