A native of western Oakland County and a political science graduate of the University of Michigan at Dearborn, City Administrator Roger Fraser worked for eleven years in Michigan counties as a labor negotiator and human resources director before heading to the high country of Colorado. While working in Muskegon, Roger completed his Masters in Public Administration at Western Michigan. During the seventeen years he worked in Colorado cities, Roger met his lovely wife Sue. When they married in the early eighties, they each had two young children. They are proud of their merged family and the closeness they all enjoy. As empty nesters, Roger and Sue moved to Blaine, Minnesota where Roger served as City Manager until accepting his current position in Ann Arbor in April, 2002. Four of Roger's five siblings still reside in Michigan. As an additional incentive to return to Michigan, all four of Roger and Sue's children had moved to the mid-west by 2001, two to the Chicago area and two within an hour's drive from Ann Arbor. Roger and Sue enjoy six grandchildren with two more expected this summer. Sue has her own business as an interior designer, so they are both busy. When time permits, they enjoy time with their family, play golf, bicycle and work in the yard. Roger also enjoys tennis, motorcycles, working on his cars and doing home improvements. They spend a lot of time getting to know and enjoy Ann Arbor and all this community offers.
