Why don't the carts have roofs?
The Ann Arbor Railroad trunkline routes through Leslie Park's front nine between holes #3 and #4.  To cross the AAR's right-of-way, there is a pedestrian tunnel between the #3 Green and #4 Tee.  This tunnel is not large enough to safely accommodate golf carts with roofs.
