Expected course openings
We expect to be able to open Huron Hills Golf Course by April 4, 2008 and Leslie Park Golf Course by April 11, 2008.  (Weather permitting.)

Even as the temperatures begin to rise into the 50s, it takes about 10 consecutive days of moderate temperatures to thaw the frost layer just below the turf surface.  Until the frost layer has thawed, we are unable to put heavy equipment on the courses without severely damaging the turf.  Once we are able to begin maintenance, it will take about one week to have Huron Hills prepared for play and two weeks to have Leslie Park prepared for play.

We thank you for your patience as this small delay is necessary to bring you the quality golf courses you expect from the City of Ann Arbor.

City of Ann Arbor Golf Report
The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Services together with Golf Convergence, Inc. hosted two community meetings in September to present an update on the Huron Hills & Leslie Park Golf Course operations and to gather input and suggestions on how to improve the golf course operations. Public comments were gathered from both meetings.

Since then, Golf Convergence, Inc. has been conducting a comprehensive analysis of the status and future of golf in the city of Ann Arbor and its findings relating to Huron Hills and Leslie Park.

On Nov. 27, a Golf Report was made available to the public. It is now posted on the Web at www.a2gov.org/parks.
