PLEASE NOTE:  Beginning February 17, 2009  the following services and staff have relocated to 2000 S. Industrial for approximately 24 months due to construction activities at City Hall:

  • Building and Trade Permit Services
  • Construction Plan Review
  • Inspection and plan review personnel
  • Rental Housing Services
  • Right-of-Way and Sidewalk Occupancy Permits

City Planners, Historic Preservation and Appeals Secretary are still located at 100 N Fifth Ave.

The mailing address will remain PO Box 8647, 100 N Fifth Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48107-8647.  Email addresses, phone and fax numbers will remain the same.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Planning and Development Services provides expertise and information to advise and guide the development, redevelopment, construction and preservation processes. The service unit oversees master planning; site plan review; rental housing inspections; historic preservation; zoning coordination; construction inspections and permits; and building, housing and sign code enforcement. It also provides support to the City Planning Commission and all appeals boards.
