 Contesting a Parking Citation 

 

How Does It Work?

If you have a problem related to a parking citation and wish to contest the citation, a parking referee is available to hear your complaint.

Parking Referee's Schedule:

Day Time
Monday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Friday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All Referee Sessions are held at:
Ann Arbor City Hall
100 North Fifth Ave., 5th Floor                               

If you are unable to appear in person, you are welcome to communicate through the mail or email.  Please be specific about the nature of the problem and include details such as vehicle license plate number, date of incident, location, time, and citation number or the original/photocopy of the citation would be preferred. 

To communicate with the Parking Referee via email. Cut and paste the following information.  All of the information below MUST be provided completely in order for the Referee to respond to your appeal.

After selecting the above text, right click to "copy" and then click here <Parking@a2gov.org> to open the email.  Right click again and "paste" the copied text into the email.  Fill out all the requested info in your email and click send.  After you send your email, the Referee will place your citation on hold and will respond to you as soon as possible by U.S. Mail. Fines do not increase while the Referee is reviewing your appeal.
