Potholes
Every spring, the Street Maintenance Services tackles one of the highest profile issues city government faces - potholes. For pothole repair, call 99-HOLES.
Every spring in Ann Arbor the potholes return. These defects are caused by water entering the street sub-base through surface cracks. The water freezes in early winter, causing it to expand. Each time the water freezes and then thaws, the street is damaged and potholes are born!
The City of Ann Arbor provides a special "Pothole Busters" program. Citizens can dial 99-HOLES to report a pothole which will be patched within 24 hours, weather permitting.
State funds are used to finance the pothole program.
