Water Treatment Plant Staff Directory

Our Mission Statement

The City of Ann Arbor is committed to providing excellent municipal services that enhance the quality of life for all through the intelligent use of our resources while valuing an open environment that fosters fair, sensitive and respectful treatment of all employees and the community we serve.

The City of Ann Arbor Water Treatment Unit extensively monitors water quality on a routine basis.  Our testing regularly exceeds requirements and we are constantly vigilant against potential threats to our water system.

We have taken steps to enhance the security of our water system.
We are following recommendations made by our local police, our state regulatory agency, the American Water Works Organization and others.  We will continue to work 24 hours a day to protect the City of Ann Arbor and its customers from potential threats to the drinking water.

As a part of an ongoing Citywide mapping project, field crews are locating, photographing, and gathering coordinate information for each sanitary sewer and storm drain manhole in the City of Ann Arbor.  This project will generate a high quality set of digital information that will be used by Water Utilities staff for management of this important infrastructure.  This photograph shows one of the field crews and their mobile Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment that is moved around the City to gather this data.

Improved digital maps are one of the first elements of this projects that will assist the department as they continue to improve their efficiency in providing services to the residents of Ann Arbor.
