 False Alarm Responses

  • False Fire Alarm Responses
    The most common cause of false alarms is due to construction operations. Many of the alarms can be avoided by contacting your alarm company to disarm your alarm at the start of each day of construction and putting the system back in service at the end of the day.

    The fire alarm system is required to be maintained and inspected annual by a certified alarm company. Your documentation should be readily available for any inspection.

    Any facility found taking their alarm system out-of-service to avoid false alarms can be subject to (but not limited to) the following:
    A. Citations being issued to the manager/owner;
    B. If it is a required system, a facility can be vacated;
