Marriage Ceremonies

Marriage ceremonies at the 15th District Court are performed by the Magistrate in Courtroom #1 on Fridays by appointment only. It is best to contact the Court at least six weeks in advance.

To request an appointment, send an email to D15weddings@a2gov.org. Please include within your email, your name and phone number as well as your reason for contacting Court ("to schedule a marriage ceremony").

Marriage ceremonies may only be performed if the parties possess a valid State of Michigan marriage license. You will also need to bring with you two witnesses and the $10 marriage fee.

To obtain information on marriage licenses and fees, please contact the Washtenaw County Clerk's Office at 734.222.6720.

If the 15th District Court Magistrate is not available, the Vital Records Division of the County Clerk's Office, upon request, will provide a list of judges, magistrates and mayors located within the Washtenaw County area who perform weddings.
