Gelman updates

Archived News Release: July 3, 2024 - ​The city submitted public comments in support of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposed inclusion of the Gelman site on the Superfund National Priorities List (NPL) on May 6, 2024. More than 150 individuals and organizations submitted public comments – the EPA will spend the next few months reviewing and responding to each comment. All comments can be viewed on the EPA's website.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Water Resources Division (WRD), will hold a virtual public meeting to seek additional input on the proposed Reissuance of a discharge permit to Gelman Sciences LLC (Permit No. MI0048453). The informational meeting and hearing will be held on June 20, 2024, beginning at 6 p.m. To attend the online hearing register at https://bit.ly/4beE10U.
