Ann Arbor Airport

Updated Noise Abatement Program

The Ann Arbor Airport has updated our Noise Abatement Program in a continuing effort to help reduce noise impacts in the area surrounding the airport. This voluntary program encourages pilots to operate their aircraft in the quietest manner possible without compromising flight safety. Pilot education and cooperation are the keys to the program as the City and Airport have no legal authority to implement mandatory restrictions based on existing noise levels.

The Airport Advisory Committee recently approved a new Flight and Noise Abatement Procedures brochure. Additional educational materials are being developed for distribution to local flight schools, FBO's and based pilots. New airfield signage about the updated program is also being installed.

One new area of emphasis of the program is requesting that local pilots refrain from pattern traffic (repetitive touch-and go landings) on the summer holidays of Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.

The Environmental Assessment for the Proposed Runway Safety Extension Project is Now Complete and Available

The final environmental assessment (EA) document for the proposed runway safety extension project at the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport has been completed and is now available for public viewing.  For a copy of the Final EA document, please go to the Airport News & Projects page.

Airport Layout Plan

From time to time, the City of Ann Arbor must approve an Airport Layout Plan (ALP) that visually depicts the current and anticipated future layout
of the airport property. This document is used to strike a balance between the aviation needs of the airport's users and those of the surrounding
properties. The City most recently approved the ALP on September 22, 2008.

*Because of the large file size the ALP link below shows only the summary sheets of the current and future layouts. A complete copy of the ALP is available by contacting the Airport Manager.

Airport Rules and Regulations

As of July 17, 2013, the Airport Advisory Committee updated the Airport Rules and Regulations.
