Barton Dam construction work will begin in Ann Arbor in early March 2025. The dam is adjacent to Barton Pond, Barton Nature Area, Bird Hills Nature Area and trails to and along the Huron River.
The Ann Arbor Community Academy (A2CA) is returning for its eighth year to provide a closeup look at local government. The popular program, free and open to community members 18 years of age and older, will again be conducted with a hybrid approach. Weekly sessions will be held either online or in person, 6:30–8:30 p.m. Wednesdays throughout March and April.

City of Ann Arbor municipal offices and the 15th District Court will be closed for the holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024 (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), as well as Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 (New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day). Residential curbside collections will not take place on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, or Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, with service being shifted by one day both weeks.
