About the Facility

Bryant and Northside Community Centers have enhanced the quality of life in Ann Arbor for the past 20 years. Programs are funded by the City of Ann Arbor, Food Gatherers, United Way, and Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation among other sources. The community centers are operated by Community Action Network. CAN partners with those in need from Washtenaw County neighborhoods to create better futures and improve their communities. Both buildings are barrier free.

Business Hours

Fall/Winter Hours (Labor Day to Memorial Day):

Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Bryant Market

• Perishable and Nonperishable Food

• One visit per eligible household per week

• Available during business hours

• New food is delivered to the Bryant Market Monday (1/2 delivery), Wednesday, and Thursday

• Distribution begins as soon as the food is ready

Once per fiscal year you will need to show ID. Allowed forms of household member ID include:

report cards
DHS/WIC documents

Please call Food Gatherers at 734.761.2796 to speak to a staff member if you have any questions. Food Gatherers has a network of food pantries and meal programs that are ready to help! Items available include fresh produce, dairy, meat, pantry staples, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, peanut butter, and more. Supplies are available to all in need, no proof of need required.

CAN's After School Program and Educational Summer Camp

CAN's education programs are community and evidence based programs. These programs improve academic skill, social and mental development, life skills, and increase high school graduation. CAN has used this model for 35+ years and its 97% graduation rate speaks volumes. The all year K-12 program involves partnership between schools, parents, and program staff. The program runs four days a week for about 22 hours a week during the academic year. The program runs for about 35 hours a week for 6 weeks in the summer.

Must live in Bryant neighborhood and meet program income eligibility requirements. Contact center staff for more details.

Northside Community Center Information

The Northside Community Center is operated by Community Action Network and serves mostly as an administration building. The site is available for receptions, special events and meetings. Rentals must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Special scholarship rental rates are available to income eligible residents.

The building also houses Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County (CSSW), a non-profit which offers a food distribution program at the center. For more information, please call 734.662.4462.
