History
Ann Arbor's city parks sit on the ancestral and traditional homelands of several indigenous Native peoples. Read a land acknowledgement from the city and learn more about the early history of the land here.
Pilgrim Park was acquired by the city in 1960 as the surrounding neighborhood was developed. The land was given to the city by the developer, as new developments at the time had a requirement to include some dedicated park land. The paved asphalt path into the park was constructed in 2009.
