Swift Run Dog Park is located at the northeast corner of the Swift Run landfill, at the corner of Platt Road and Ellsworth Road in southeast Ann Arbor. An annual off-leash dog permit is required for access to off-leash areas at Swift Run Park. The 10-acre Swift Run Dog Park is maintained in partnership with Washtenaw County with financial contributions from both the city and county. See additional information at Washtenaw County's page for Swift Run. The entire perimeter is fenced, with two gated entrances that permit a safe transition in and out of the dog park. There is a separate fenced area for dogs less than 20 pounds. Each dog play area has benches, waste stations, and plenty of room to run. There is an information board near the porta john, and an information stand by the entrance.
Swift Run Dog Park occasionally needs extra maintenance due to being built on top of a landfill. The City of Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission are committed to providing a safe park that adheres to regulatory standards from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).
Park Notices
Unless otherwise posted per City Council resolution, when a park is closed, no person shall remain in or enter it other than to quietly sit or walk.

There is a parking lot off of Platt Road.
There is a sidewalk along the east side of Platt Road, but no bike lanes. There are no bike racks at the park.

Ann Arbor Parks have three dog parks. They are located in Swift Run Park, Olson Park, and Broadway Park. These off-leash dog parks were approved to operate in 2007. An agreement was signed with Washtenaw County to share operating expenses at Swift Run. The land is owned by the city.
