​​​The Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund provides city residents with low income access to our park facilities and programs. Our scholarship program provides families the chance to gain and refine life skills, get active and more.

The number who apply and qualify for the Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation Scholarships grows each year. We are committed to helping those in need. ​​

How to A​​pply

Download a copy of the scholarship application (PDF). You can also pick up a copy from the Parks Customer Service Office at 2781 Packard Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48108​. To apply, submit your application and all relevant documents at the Parks Customer Service Office. A incomplete application will lead to either a delay or a denial of your applic​ation. Scholarships must be renewed yearly. To check if your scholarship is still active or reapply, please contact the Parks Customer Service Office at 734.794.623​0 x 0. 

Who Qualifies for Parks Scho​larships?

The Parks and Recreation Scholarship program is available to people​ who:

  • live within the city limits of the City of Ann Arbor
  • have income/support that falls within the “very low” or “extremely low” Housing and Urban Development (HUD) income guidelines. 

Having an Ann Arbor mailing address or living in the school district does not qualify you alone. ​You must live within city limits. For more information, contact the Parks Customer Service Office at 734.794.6230 x 0 or email [email protected].


What Programs do Scholarship​s Cover? 

Each approved household member receives three discounts on programs per program period (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter.) Programs vary each year, but most programs qualify for Scholarship discounts. Those who qualify may receive 50% or 100% discounts based on their income under "very low" or "extremel​y low" HUD income guidelines.

How to Do​nate

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund. One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to support scholarships for those in need. To donate, contact City of Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation Services at 734.794.6230. 

Your gift could help:

  • Teach a Child or Ad​ult to Swim (Swim Lessons) - $55

  • Provide a Learn to Skate Lesson - $66​

  • Provide a Yoga Class at the Senior Center - $70​

  • Send a Student to Junior Golf Camp - $160​

  • Provide a Child a Week of Summer Day Camp - $200

  • Provide an Entire Family a Season Pool Pass - $350
