Anonymous Hiring Practices
On March 18, 2024 The City Council approved Resolution to Implement Anonymous Hiring Initiative, R-24-092. This effort is established to reduce bias in the initial stages of job application by removing name, address, title, address, and other information that may bias the initial application review.
Transgender-inclusive Healthcare Benefits
City of Ann Arbor employee healthcare plans cover gender-affirming procedures and medical care.
Employee Resource Groups
The City encourages employees to establish affinity groups around identities to provide support and safe spaces. These groups also provide opportunity for these identities to weigh in on matters of city policy. Three such affinity groups currently operate: LGBTQ+ and Allies, Women, and Temporary Employees.
