December Water Champion

Archived News Release: December 1, 2023 - Congratulations to Public Works Manager, Paul Matthews who is our December Water Champion. Paul has worked for the City of Ann Arbor for more than eight years, but has nearly 30 years' experience in the public works field.

Paul says he really enjoys working to ensure the city is meeting the requirements of the updated Lead and Copper Rule, which includes the water service line material inventory verification and replacing galvanized water service lines that were once connected to the water system via a lead gooseneck. To date, the city has funded the replacement of 386 galvanized water service lines.

Outside of work, he enjoys home improvement projects, woodworking and spending time on the water. Thank you to Paul for his work to ensure safe drinking water for our customers!
