Archived News Release: January 5, 2022 - The City of Ann Arbor is asking residents to learn more and share their thoughts on potential projects identified for $24.1 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding that the city is receiving. The funding is part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which provides financial support to local governments to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Ann Arbor is now in the process of determining how to allocate the one-time $24.1 million in ARPA funds the city is receiving. Information on the proposed projects is available at www.a2gov.org/rescuefunds, including video overviews to explain each project. The public can also sign up to receive project updates via email while on the site.
As part of this effort, the city will be holding a series of online public meetings to answer questions about potential projects; participants are highly encouraged to watch overview videos before joining the question-and-answer sessions. To use time efficiently, project overviews will not be provided during the meetings. An online survey will be available Jan. 28–Feb. 14, 2022, (to be linked on the project site) to gather public input about which projects to fund.
