Make an online payment now
Customers have the option of making one time payments with no registration required. You can register to access several features including saving your payment method, signing up for paperless billing, setting up a recurring auto-payment plan, and linking multiple accounts.
Please be aware that registration in the payment system will require your customer # (last 6 digits of your account #) and the last name on the account.
Phone
To pay by phone, have your 12 digit water billing account number and call 844.395.2242. There is no charge to pay by phone.

Drop boxes
There is a drive-up drop box located on the corner of East Ann St and North Fifth Ave (Blue drop box). This box is available 24 hours a day.
There is also a drop box located in the City Hall building on the north side at 301 E. Huron, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, just inside the Ann Street entrance (Black drop box). This drop box is available during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except holidays).
Payments will be processed the next business day. However, they will be backdated to the previous business day.
In person
In person payments can be made at the City of Ann Arbor Customer Service & Payment Center located within Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except holidays).
You may also check your
water usage and bill information online, with your account number, any time.
Assistance
City of Ann Arbor: The city may be able to postpone payments on utilities for those who cannot pay. Please call customer service at 734.794.6333 to request a payment delay on your account.
Barrier Busters (Washtenaw County): Connect with resources via Barrier Busters for rent, mortgage and utility assistance, transportation, food assistance, and other direct support needed.
Water Consumption Tool
Meet AquaHawk, a free online tool which will help City of Ann Arbor water customers to:
- View and track water consumption
- Get water alerts via email, text or phone
You may now register for the new online consumption tool. Users with multiple accounts with the same customer number only need to add one account per customer number. The remaining accounts with that customer number will be linked within 24 hours.
