Meeting Schedule

Regular Planning Commission meetings take place at City Hall Council Chamber, 2nd floor of the Guy C. Larcom, Jr. Municipal Building, 301 E. Huron Street, Ann Arbor.

For Regular Meetings, public comment will also be available virtually if you do not wish to attend in person. Please note it is possible that virtual public comment may encounter technical difficulties that prevent your participation. To guarantee your comments are received, you must submit them in writing ahead of the meeting or attend in person. Comments may be made during the public comment portion of the meeting by calling the following number: 206.337.9723 or 213.338.8477 or Toll Free 877.853.5247 or 888.788.0099 and entering the meeting ID: 977 6634 1226, or via the published Zoom meeting link.

Planning Commission Working Session meetings are conducted solely electronically (virtually).  Information to watch or listen (via phone or web), and to provide public comment is only available through the published Zoom meeting link.

Citizen Participation

One of the most important jobs of the Ann Arbor City Planning Commission is to provide an opportunity for the public to offer constructive comments on items before it, and then to take those comments into account when making its recommendations or decisions.

As a citizen, you can take an active role in shaping Ann Arbor by participating in the planning and development process.  Information on public hearings and tracking development petitions is provided below.

Public Hear​​ings

• 15 days before a hearing, a notice is published in the Washtenaw Legal News (visit www.legalnews.com, click on Public Notice Quick Search, and type in "City of Ann Arbor PH")
• 15 days before a hearing, postcards describing the project and providing the date and time of the hearing are sent to property owners, residents, and registered neighborhood and business associations located within 300 feet of the property being considered.

• One week before the hearing, a sign is prominently posted on the property being considered. The sign contains:

1. The name of the petition
2. The time and place of the hearing
3. How to get more information 
4. The date the property was posted

• You can review petitions that are scheduled for public hearing by going to stream.a2gov.org​ and clicking on "Search" in the top menu. Here you'll be able to find plans, as well as other permits and licenses associated with the address.
