*The numbers in the 2024 General Election Fact Sheet represent how voters actually cast their ballots - by absentee vote, early voting, or in-person voting on Election Day. A small number of absentee ballots from the final Election Day returns were inadvertently recorded as and are reflected in the official canvass as "Election Day votes." This does not affect any votes cast or the final vote totals but does appear to show a lower number of absentee votes and a higher number of Election Day votes when comparing individual precincts.

Election News and Updates
Public Accuracy Test
The public accuracy and logic test of the voting equipment to be used on Election Day will be conducted on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at our Election Headquarters, 3021 Miller Road. The test will be conducted as part of a City Election Commission Meeting taking place at 3 p.m.
Absentee Ballot Counting
Absentee ballots will be counted at the City's Election Headquarters, 3021 Miller Road. Early tabulation will take place on Sunday, November 3 from 10am - 8pm with an estimated maximum of 45 workers. Processing will resume on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5 at 10am. We will have 5 AVCBs (Absentee Voter Count Boards), one per ward.
Early Vote Tabulation
Early Voting begins Saturday, October 26! The tabulation of early voting results will take place at City Hall, 301 E. Huron Street, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 8 p.m. in the City Hall basement conference room.
Election Day Vote Centers
An Election Day Vote Center will be open at City Hall, and the U-M satellite offices at UMMA and Duderstadt Center on Election Day from 7am - 8pm for voters registering to vote on Election Day. Voters who register on Election Day can receive a ballot and tabulate their vote at the Vote Center after registering to vote. The Vote Centers are only available for voters registering or updating their registered address on election day.
Voter Registration
City residents can submit a registration form by mail, email, fax,
online or in-person. Voters can also register at any Secretary of State Branch Office, the Washtenaw County Clerk's Office, and designated state agencies such as Family Independence Agencies or military branch offices.
During the 14 days leading up to election day, voters
must register in-person at the City Clerk's Office if they would like to vote in the election. Voters must show proof of residency to register within 14 days of an election.
City residents who are eligible to vote can register to vote at the City Clerk's Office during regular business hours. Eligible voters can register to vote in the election up to 8pm on election day.
