EPA enforcement alert on cybersecurity

Archived News Release: July 3, 2024 - Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency issued an enforcement alert highlighting activities to ensure drinking water systems fully comply with Section 1433 of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), which requires all Community Water Systems serving more than 3,300 people to conduct Risk and Resilience Assessments (RRAs), develop Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), and certify their completion to EPA. Ann Arbor Water has an RRA and ERP that are routinely updated and staff continue to work closely with our IT department to ensure we are maximizing our protection against cyber threats.
