Community Engagement Process

The AAHC partnered with SmithGroup from 2019 to 2021 to conduct community engagement on affordable housing at the 10 sites identified in the Feasibility Analysis as suitable.

The AAHC conducted a downtown living survey in 2020 to learn whether low-income families would live in downtown Ann Arbor and what features were important to them.

Additional community engagement for 121 Catherine, related to the historic Black district, has been conducted in partnership with YMJ & Associates. The first public Community Forum was held on Zoom on June 17, 2022.

A second Community Forum was held September 1st, 2022 at the Farmers Market (315 Detroit Street) and 121 Catherine.
