Green Fair Returns to Downtown Ann Arbor Friday Sept. 22

The A2ZERO Green Fair returns Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, along Main Street and the Library Lot in downtown Ann Arbor. Attendees can stroll local exhibits and learn innovative ways to live sustainably and take climate action. The event is free to attend.

Over 75 nonprofit, governmental and commercial exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions, allowing attendees to find resources for sustainable action, including resources related to: the circular economy; solar and renewable energy; green transportation; plant-based foods; climate resiliency; environmental education; clean water protections; and energy waste reduction.  

Downtown Main Street will feature Green Fair exhibitors 5-8 p.m.

  • Participate in a variety of interactive demonstrations and games.

  • Discover the latest in tech innovations.

  • Listen and groove to great music with the Glen Leven Band!

  • Bring an upcycled t-shirt or tote bag to use at the sustainable screen-printing station.

  • Arrive with your bike and join the Bike Parade for the Planet, which starts at 7 p.m.  


In addition to Main Street, Library Lane Lot (343 S. Fifth Ave.) will also welcome guests 2–6 p.m. with a variety of alternate forms of transportation.

  • Test drive the newest tech in electric vehicles.
  • Take a spin on an e-bike.
  • Learn about clean, last-mile delivery transport.
  • Watch an e-scooter demo.
  • Find out about TheRide's hybrid public transportation services. 
  • Check out Tech Trek at Liberty Plaza as well to interact with local tech companies designing cutting-edge technologies. 


Green Fair is hosted by the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations. Director Missy Stults shares her enthusiasm for this event, noting, “It's hard to believe Green Fair has been held in our community for 22 years, thanks to the initiative of (former) Mayor Hieftje and the ongoing support of Mayor Taylor. We love seeing the community join us to celebrate a greener, healthier and more sustainable Ann Arbor for all!"
