1st Thursday of each month​. 7:00-8​:00pm. Virtual.​​​

This one hour, onl​ine event is hosted by the GLREA on the first Thursday of each month. Come hear from Ann Arborites who have gone solar, and have a chance to ask them all y​​our questions! Register for "Thursd​ay Night Energy Events" to receive meeting links.​​​​​

A2ZERO Week

June 9th - 15th.

In June 2020, the City's plan to achieve a just transit​ion to community-wide carbon neutrality, known as A2ZERO​, was unanimously adopted by City Council. Each year, the Office of Sustainability and Innovations organizes A2ZERO Week to commemorate the passing of the plan and to celebrate the work done by the City and our many collaborators in the sustainability space.​ Learn more about this year's events here​.

Ann Arbor Distilling Company A2ZERO Cocktail Classes​

Monday, June 24th​. 5:30-6:30pm and 8:00-9:00pm. Ann Arbor Distilling Company.

Channel your inner mixologist using local, sustainable ingredients! Make two cocktails using unique recipes designed just for A2ZERO, t​our the distille​ry,​ learn about our local food system with Ryan Poe of The Hungry Locavore​, and try some locally-sourced bites. Limited capacity. Click on your preferred class time to register ​in advance (required): 5:30pm or 8:00pm​.​​​

Ann Arbor/Washtenaw ​​2030 District Summit​

Wednesday, June 26th​. 4:30-7:30pm​​​​. WISD Teaching & Learning Center​.

Join the Ann Arbor / Washtenaw 2030 District for a celebration of ​all the work our community has been doing over the past year! ​Workshop topics will include decarbonization, tree preservation, financial incentives, and ​the Green Rental Housing ordinance (featuring OSI Energy Analyst Joe Lange). N​eighborhood Swap Day

Saturday, June 29th​. 10:00am-2:00pm​​​​. Pioneer High School​.

OSI and ZeroWaste.org invite you to attend a Neigh​borhood Swap Day on June 29th at Pioneer High School. Bring items in good condition like clothes, books, household items, and appliances - and find something new to you. Everything at the swap is free and we do not require you to bring items as a condition of being able to take items. Items can be brought to the event from 10am-2pm and items will be available to take from 11am-2pm. Our goal is to reduce the number of items that are going to the landfill and prevent the environmental co​st of production. RSVP (encouraged, but not required) at zerowaste.org/a2swap.

Ann Arbor Area Sustainable Food Business Coalition Meeting

Tuesda​y, July 9th​. 2:00-3:00pm​​​​. Bløm Mead + Cider, 110 S Fourth St.

Join us for the first official meeting of the Ann Arbor Area Sustainable Food Business Coalition! The SFBC is Ann Arbor's network of bu​​​sinesses working together to advance sustainability throughout the food s​ystem. During this network meeting, members will have an opportunity to connect with like-minded business owners and hear from the Ann Arbor 2030 District about how businesses can improve their energy & water efficiency, lessen their environmental footprint, and save money in the process. This is an in-person event with a virtual participation option.​​ Learn more about the SFBC here​.​

3rd Annual Home Electrification Expo​​​

Friday, August 2nd. 5:00-8:00pm. Ann Arbor Farmers Market.

The City of Ann Arbor's Office of Sustainability and Innovations invites you to join us for a Home Electrif​​ication Expo! Come learn about home electrification and how you can reduce your carbon footprint and increase the efficiency and health of your home. Chat with industry experts on ways to make your home cleaner, greener, and safer; watch induction cooktop demos; see efficient heat pump water heaters & space heating/cooling systems; talk with local residents who are electrifying their homes; meet local contractors installing all-electric appliances; enjoy a meal from a local food truck; and listen to some live music!​​​​ Attendance is free - RSVP here​.​

Would you like to volun​teer with the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations? If yes, join us at one of the following: ​

  • Park Clean Up - On the th​ird Tuesday of each ​month (March - November) from 8:30-10am​, OSI staff have a work day in Bandemer Park​ with GIVE365. Join us to help remove invasive plants​, clean up trash, and more. If you are interested in joining us for a work day, please email Sean Reynolds at sreynol​[email protected]​​​​
